This is now the 14th year of Living Tree Orchid Essences – A time for Celebration, which is the name of our newest essence! Our first “ Unveiling Affection”  was made in September 1998 & from that time the many years of exploring the healing qualities of these orchids have been astonishing and amazing. From deep past-life traumas, to grieving hearts; from muscular relaxation to pelvic invigoration; from self-love to unconditional compassion. In the 106 essences in the kit, a tremendous toolkit of energy-healing-helpers has been developed.

Living Tree Orchid Essences 6 main areas of action are described in pages 14 & 15 of the book “Orchid Essence Healing” . Homeopath & Kinesiologist Dr Adrian Brito-Babapulle has gone further, by devising a pyramidal form of arrangement to describe the "hierarchy of healing" that he finds within the range – I shall be visiting Gigha in May this year to explore his findings further & will then be hosting Orchid essence Healing workshops here in Australia to share this information as well as practitioner & patient’s experiences with the range – Please e-mail me if you are interested in the workshops which will take place regularly from August 2012

Some of our essences address remedial conditions ('negative' states) are concerned with our becoming healthier, more whole. But once those conditions are healed, then we move beyond the need for an essence of Becoming, and into the qualities of Being.

Many of the orchids have both aspects: -  Remedy or Enhancer qualities. (Example: if one is feeling emotionally fine, then Being in Grace will simply feel lovely, beautiful and noble. But if there are toxic old emotions which have been swept under the carpet of the psyche, then the first time one takes Being in Grace, the carpet will be lifted, and those old uncomfortable feelings will immediately surface. A second dose then brings immediate cleansing / healing, after that initial moment of awareness.)

Celebration appears to have almost no concern with remedial conditions, but instead invites you to experience deep and powerful Being. As one of our network of provers wrote about her meditation on the mother tincture:

“I feel very calm, peaceful and surrendered.  I feel pressure across my neck, the back of my head and shoulders then across my head through both ears.  I feel an expansion and tingling in the Ba-hui area but not my crown.  Hands are very tingly and warm and stay this way throughout the entire meditation.  I feel like my whole upper body and torso are puffed up somewhat like a balloon.  A shaft of white light is coming from my crown chakra.  Then the light becomes a cone shaped spiral.  Large at my crown and getting smaller as it spirals upward forming a pointed cone shape.  The spiral is moving at an even pace and seems to extend very far above my head

Then after a while a leopard appears off to my left.  I go to it and hug him, my arms around his neck and laid my face against his body.  I climb onto his back and hold on to him as we lope away.  I can smell him and feel the powerful muscles under me.  I feel a very close connection to him.  He is my dear friend or companion.  He takes us into the white spiral which now looks like a pyramid and we disappear.

Next, I see to the left of my vision white, then yellow then purple colors repeating over and over coming in waves.”

Fruits of Love -

At the tail end of September and the first 6 days of October, a group of some 26 people came to Gigha to attend a seminar with our good friend Dr. Adrian Brito-Babapulle, to learn more about his kinesiological approach to working with the orchid essences. It was on October 1st that we together made this new essence. The  orchid has an unusual characteristic that the buds seem to become fully grown, but then remain closed for several weeks, before finally opening. When the buds are fully formed but not yet opened, there is an air of expectancy, akin to that of a pregnant woman. Then the blooms open, facing the earth, offering a gentle and exquisite fragrance. Dendrobium alexandrae grows in the highest branches in lowland  forest in Papua New Guinea, often exposed to much more sunlight than most orchids would tolerate. The essence has a strong impact on the root and sacral (2nd) chakras, as well as the heart chakra; there is also a reach into the Crown chakra and above. It is an essence of conception, and of nurturing the state of pregnancy, as well as overlighting the birth process. It acts in complimentary ways to the action of Purity of Soul in helping to clear further energetic pathways in the 2nd chakra relating to birth. It is also about bringing in our highest light, found in the top branches of our soul, so that we may fully incarnate our highest potential.

After the essence was made, Adrian had the entire seminar group meditate, taking drops of the mother tincture. One participant described the meditation as being so profound and wonderful as to be "life-changing". She told the group that it was "Rebirth at the deepest level", and heard the orchid being say to her, "We are the fruit of our labour".

October 2011 - Purity of Soul

Purity of Soul is the energetic sister to Hive of Heaven (which was made in July 2011), Purity of Soul is like a gentle purifying rain for the soul, an ablution to cleanse us of negative accumulated baggage of the ego.  It also appears able to help clear negative ancestral patterns held subconsciously in the psyche and chakras. This essence is lovely, calming, gently grounding and quietening; it brings a stillness of mind, yet also attentiveness, mindfulness. The chatter of the mind is silenced.

Purity of Soul would be a good essence to take before meditation, or prayer, or before any sacred ceremony; it would be especially appropriate for a bride (and the groom) to take before the wedding ceremony. One can see this notion of “preparation for spiritual wedding” in the signature of the orchid: the nearly pure white blooms, with just a blush of pink, always appear in pairs.

The essence has a gentle dreamlike quality, yet also a firmness of purpose. One feels a call for atonement, and an awakening of a lost understanding of spiritual realms which have been forgotten.

July 2011  - Two New Single Orchid Essences , two new combination essences & new Essence Cards -  now in Australia

One risk of having a greenhouse for orchids, is the likelihood of feeling compelled to find more orchids to put in it...  And the consequence is that there come to be more orchids calling out to be made into essences!

Recently there have been two further essences added to our range. The newest one, made in early May, was made with a hybrid called Brassia Rex, and the essence is called Heaven's Gate.

The genus Brassia is native to Central and South America, and all the species share the traits of the multiple blooms having these elongated petals. This is the first essence we have made with a Brassia, this being a primary hybrid (i.e., both parents are species, as found in nature). I bought the plant at the Peterborough International Orchid Show in June 2010. At the time it had 3 spikes of blooms, and looked lovely. Apparently it likes our greenhouse and the location inside where I have it growing on a wall, because this summer it has brought forth 8 flower spikes. Each spike may have between 12 and 16 blooms, so this plant has had well over 100 blooms out in the past 2 months - quite a sight!

In the Orchid Essence Healing Book there is a  star (on page 14) which delineates the 6 major areas in which the essences have their impact: the physical; sensual / sexual; heart / emotional; mental; protective; and spiritual. Normally an essence will have some impact in two of these areas, and a major impact on one. Heaven's Gate is the first orchid essence we have made which has an impact in all 6 of these areas. There isn't the space here to go into all of this, and as of yet we have only our brief summary for describing the essence up on our website, but more information will be put up very soon. However, this essence is a wonderful one, which in brief we can say protects & enables the communion of Love, as we journey to find the gates to the mystic castle within.

The other new essence, Night Soul, was made in March 2011, with a magnificent, commanding Paphiopedilum Wössner's Black Wings.

Don bought this orchid from a commmercial orchid grower in France two years ago, and this was the first time it had come into bloom. Our process of deciding whether to make an essence with one of the orchids these days usually involves some dialogue between my wife and I, and with our friend Adrian Brito-Babapulle. Both Emma and Adrian are good at sensing when a particular plant in bloom is bursting with its song, with its energetic intention. To be blunt about it, I am better at the watering! But the very clear benefit of having this 3-way dialogue is that an orchid has to be humming its song loudly for us to respond with the making of an essence with it. And that means that each new essence tends to be pretty potent.

Night Soul is no exception. The commanding presence the orchid exhibits is found in the qualities of the essence. Several of the provers reported seeing themselves embodying the energy of the orchid, flying over a devastated war-torn landscape. This flying spirit was a survivor, and had not merely survived, but had emerged intact, with all of its soul's capacity still very much present. One prover described feeling like a warrior-king, with a tremendous energy.

The essence was made at night, finishing just at dawn. It is not an essence to take lightly. Night Soul will help people who have been through some of the most traumatic experiences that humanity inflicts upon itself. One therapist suggested that it should be helpful for survivors of the holocaust, or as Adrian said to me when I mentioned that to him, anyone who has survived a program of genocide.

It is also one of several essences in the range which would help victims of rape. In a recent seminar, one woman shared with the group that she had been raped a number of years before. During the course of the seminar, three-quarters of the orchid essences were experienced in brief meditations, each taken at stock strength. Janet (not her real name) had very clear meditational healing from at least a third of the essences, directly relating to her rape. For example, Andean Fire went straight down into her pelvic region. (Andean Fire heals deep trauma, and helps one to recover courage and purpose.) Various other essences provided lovely, and loving reassurances to her heart and body. On the final day of the week-long seminar, we meditated on Night Soul. Janet reported that as soon as she took the drops and closed her eyes, she was vividly recalling and reliving the rape, except that this time she was able to throw the attacker off of her. This was a tremendous healing, and in her recounting of it several of us were moved to tears. With the help of Night Soul, Janet was re-programming her deep psyche, to affirm to herself that she is not a victim in life, but rather the Captain of her soul and of her experiences.
I mention that specific instance of the essence's healing qualities, as it is a wonderful example of how the essence can be used to good effect. Janet had experienced a great deal of healing in the course of the seminar, but without Night Soul, that healing would have been incomplete to some degree. Night Soul was a sort of Graduation exercise from the School of Trauma.

Two New Orchid Combinations

There are also two new combination essences: Memory Enhancer, and Solus. We have been working on the formula for Memory Enhancer for the past 2 or 3 years, and it was only with the addition of Moon Child that it finally had the impact that we were hoping for. An increased clarity of the mental processes is brought about, and while it is early days in our use of it, the feedback we have is very positive.
